Where JKD Legacy began in Australia
Before the Melbourne headquarters, there was Adelaide. Sigung Ricardo Vargas opened the Adelaide Kwoon in 2011, bringing the lineage he received from Sifu Jerry Poteet and Sigung Richard Bustillo — both direct students of Bruce Lee — to South Australia.
Sifu Peter Pitrakkos carries that lineage in Adelaide today. Like every affiliated instructor, he presents and runs his school his own way, while sharing the same roots and principles: interception, economy of motion, directness, and absorbing what is useful.
Why choose Jeet Kune Do for self-defence in Adelaide?
Adelaide has plenty of martial arts schools — karate, BJJ, Muay Thai, kickboxing. Jeet Kune Do offers something different:
Every range in one art
Kicking, punching, trapping and grappling are trained together, so you are prepared when a situation changes range.
Simple under stress
Few, direct techniques built on principles — the idea is to intercept the attack, not to memorise patterns.
A real lineage
Instruction that traces back to Bruce Lee through two of his own students — not a weekend certificate.
